*8/4/23 MARIMO MOSS BALL UPDATE*
In Feb 2021, zebra mussels were found highjacked to marimo moss ball shipments in several pet stores in over half of the United States. Zebra mussels are a highly invasive and dangerous species that can cause major damage to native habitats. All marimos sold from my shop are RESPONSIBLY collected by my distributor and inspected and cleared by the USDA. The marimos are then quarantined and treated for a minimum of 2 weeks to ensure no pests (including zebra mussels) are found on/inside the marimos. Added to that, I propagate and continue growing them which allows me to check inside all marimos before I sell them in terrariums. Please be aware of this issue happening when purchasing marimo moss balls from any seller and make sure the marimos you are buying do not have zebra mussels attached to them!
